During my first year getting familiar with the campus here at William & Mary, I have took initiative and spearheaded several campus-wide projects that combine storytelling, videography, and digital innovation to highlight the university’s underlying spirit and community. With projects ranging from athletics to cybersecurity, my work emphasizes the power of visualization through different mediums to engage audiences and create lasting resources.
One of my key projects involved building a digital portfolio for W&M Tribe Football, showcasing behind-the-scenes footage, player journeys, and team culture. Prototyped with Figma and planned to deploy with Webflow, the site serves as both an archive for Special Collections and a public-facing tool to celebrate the program’s history and future. By incorporating cinematic production such as stabilized shots, enhanced lighting, and creative editing, I elevated the quality of the content to resonate with both football fans and those outside the athletic community.
In addition to my onboarding with athletic content creation, I took the lead on a Cybersecurity Awareness Month video for William & Mary Information Technology. This project transformed the traditional presentation in an IT department into a visually engaging video featuring differing shots, interviews, and practical cybersecurity tips. By focusing on dynamic-moving visuals, I crafted a professional, accessible video that demonstrated W&M’s identity in promoting an important message.
Going beyond just these individual projects, my initiatives aim to build a pipeline/starting point for aspiring student creators on-campus to gain hands-on experience with professional equipment and techniques. By combining athletics, academics, and media production, I hope to establish that these projects inspire collaboration, amplify W&M’s identity, and be a provider of sustainable resources for eager creators like myself. Through every project that I have involved myself in at W&M, I’ve sought to use the power of filmmaking and creativity to leave a lasting impact on the William & Mary community.
